   Look around people

   Your protection of privacy
   Has become just a lie
   Can you accept it that soon
   They'll be tapping all our phones?
   And if your digital rights are worth saving...
   Then you'd better come with us
   Or you'll be left alone!
   Oh the Pirates, we are a-sailing!

   The ministers and congressmen
   Won't listen to our calls
   “Don't censor our Internet!”
   “Please change the laws!”
   “It needs to be free,
   and open for all!”
   The battle for the 'net's raging
   But the Pirates are here now
   And we're giving it our all!
   Oh the Pirates, we are a-sailing!

   Businessmen, politicians,
   And lobbies hand in hand,
   Don't criticize us
   And try to understand
   That we, the consumers
   Are beyond your command
   Your business models are ageing
   Why can't you think of new ones?
   Release the films and bands!
   Cause you can't stop the Pirates from sailing!

   The Pirates are here,
   Flag tied to mast
   Cause the laws we have now
   Were designed for the past
   Things have gotta change
   And they've gotta change fast
   The system is hopelessly failing
   So join our crew, friends
   And help with this task!
